The 4 x 1800 Trail

You can pick up your bib under the race marquee, in the heart of the Prairie des Sagnes.

• Friday, July 17 from 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

• Saturday, July 18 from 6:30 am until 30 minutes before the start of each race.

The races will start from the Lioran Resort:

• For the "Trail des 4 x 1800" solo & relay: Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 7:45 am

• For the "Trail des Crêtes": Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10:30 am

• For the "Trail du Plomb": Friday, July 17, 2026 at 8:30 pm

• For the "Marathon des Cantalous": at the respective start time of each of the two races, the "Trail des 4 x 1800" and the "Trail du Plomb".

The cut-off time is the deadline set by the organizer to leave from a checkpoint. Elimination times are intended to make the course as safe as possible, so as to ensure runners’ safety in the best possible conditions:

• "Trail des 4 x 1800": maximum 7 hours of racing, all breaks included, for the entire course. Runners are out of the race beyond these limits. The cut-off is at the Saint-Jacques-des-Blats aid station; a cut-off will be enforced at 12:30 pm.

• "Trail des Crêtes": 5 hours of racing, all breaks included, for the entire course. Runners are out of the race beyond these limits.

• "Trail du Plomb": 3 hours of racing, all breaks included, for the entire course. Runners are out of the race beyond these limits.

These races follow the principle of self-sufficiency and require runners to be reasonably self-reliant between two aid stations, both in terms of food and in terms of clothing and safety equipment.

2 full aid stations (fluids + solids) will be located at Saint-Jacques-des-Blats and at Col de Rombière. A fluids-only aid station will also be available at the Plomb-du-Cantal cable car.

No cups will be provided: runners must bring their own container.

The equipment required of participants differs depending on the format concerned. This list is in place to maximize your safety. It is a vital minimum that each trail runner must adapt according to their own abilities.

Whatever the distance, no cups will be provided, in line with the organization’s ongoing environmental objectives.

The basic mandatory kit for the "Trail des 4 x 1800", the "Trail des Crêtes" and the "Trail du Plomb" is as follows:

• A working mobile phone. The runner must be reachable at all times before, during and after the race: it is necessary to keep the phone switched on, and not to activate airplane mode. Any runner who cannot be reached may be penalized.

• 1L water reserve (only 0.5L for the "Trail du Plomb")

• Survival blanket

• Whistle

• A working headlamp (only for the "Trail du Plomb")

Mandatory equipment depending on weather conditions:

• A waterproof rain jacket

• A beanie and gloves

• An additional second layer (top + bottom)

• A larger water reserve

The use of poles is prohibited.
